Paranormal-Investigator Game: Plans #1

Paranormal Investigator

Paranormal Investigator is a ghost investigation horror game about uncovering information about the ghosts and putting them to rest in a variety of locations suddenly rife with paranormal activity.

The aim for this project is to create a game combining elements from across the ghost hunting genre. Namely, the logic puzzle based deduction of Phasmophobia as well as the ghost's narrative present in Conrad Stevenson's Paranormal PI.

Mechanics

MechanicExplanation
GhostsA Paranormal Entity that roams the location and interacts with the environment. There will be multiple types of ghosts, each with their own behaviours. E.g Poltergeist that will throw items more aggressively, Demons that are angered easier.
ProofPlayers will be required to gather proof of a ghost before being able to finish the investigation. This includes writing down the name of the ghost and how they died as well as capturing a photo of the ghost and finding evidence using provided ghost hunting equipment. Each Ghost type will showcase different evidence using the equipment.
AngerGhosts in a location will have an 'anger' bar that fills up when the player performs actions that the ghost dislikes. Each ghost type will have a list of liked and disliked actions. Performing a disliked action will raise the bar and performing a liked action will lower it. If the Anger bar is filled up, the player must either confront the ghost with the information gathered and help the ghost pass on or hide from the ghost until it has calmed down.
